St.Vincent Indianapolis Hospital was recently recognized in the top five percent in the nation for women’s care by HealthGrades, the leading independent healthcare rating organization. The HealthGrades Seventh Annual Women’s Health in American Hospitals study analyzed nearly 7 million hospitalization records to identify top-performing hospitals.  This is the second consecutive year St.Vincent Hospital has received this distinction.

We achieved this award due to the dedication each of our associates demonstrate on a daily basis. They all deserve this honor for their unwavering commitment to delivering the highest level of comprehensive care to all our patients and families. We continue to address each patient from a holistic perspective – body, mind and spirit – to ensure satisfaction and optimal outcomes.  This HealthGrades designation is another testament to our continued dedication to providing exemplary patient experiences.

St.Vincent is one of only 166 hospitals in the nation with patient outcomes for women that are in the top five percent according to the study. As a result, we received the 2010/2011 HealthGrades Women’s Health Excellence Award.

As part of the study, St.Vincent and virtually every other hospital in the country were evaluated for the following procedures and treatments among women aged 65 and over:

·        Women’s Medicine (heart attack, congestive heart failure, pneumonia, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and stroke)

·        Women’s Cardiovascular Procedures (coronary bypass surgery, peripheral vascular bypass, coronary interventional procedures, resection/replacement of abdominal aorta, carotid surgery, and valve replacement); and

·        Women’s Bone & Joint Health (total knee and total hip replacement surgeries, spinal surgeries, and hip fracture repair).
