Joe Aeschliman IUSM Liaison Family Medicine Student Interest Group
Indiana University School of Medicine
Joe is a native Hoosier hailing from Fort Wayne, IN. After obtaining both his undergraduate and medical degrees from Indiana University, he decided to pursue a career in family medicine at St. Vincent. His enjoyment for working with all types of patients, from the newborn to the elderly, along with his desire to develop lifelong relationships is what led him into the field of family medicine. He selected St. Vincent as his residency choice for many reasons, but what impressed him the most was the quality of individuals that make up the program as well as the outstanding facilities. A few of Joe’s medical interests include sports medicine, procedures, and adult medicine. In his spare time Joe enjoys playing in basketball and softball leagues, golfing, boating, fishing, and of course, being the true Hoosier at heart, watching the March Madness basketball tournament.

John Dustin
Indiana University School of Medicine
Originally from Philadelphia, I am enjoying my transformation into a MidWesterner. I chose Family Medicine for the great patient diversity, and the ability to help with a multitude of problems through life-long care. I couldn't have chosen a better place for my continued training, St. Vincent is such an excellent setting, is made up of a superb group of people, and maintains a culture of service!

Samir Ginde
Ross University
I am pleased to be joining St. Vincent Family Medicine Residency. What I love about the specialty is the ability to connect with people beyond providing medicine. I saw how happy the residents are in this program, in the hospital, and with each other. I had to be a part of it. I look forward to working hard and learning as much as possible. I am really excited to train along with all the specialties and being challenged on a daily basis. I am a graduate of Ross University School of Medicine and I also have a Master’s in Nutrition from Columbia University. I am originally from New Jersey and very excited to move to the big city of Indianapolis. The more time I spend here, the more I love it. The city has everything you need, from a great variety of restaurants, outdoor activities, affordable living, and almost no traffic!!

JW Malenkos
Indiana University School of Medicine
On January 12, 1981 at around 1:30 PM, I was delivered at St. Vincent Hospital where my father was a family medicine resident. So I guess that you could say I was born for this program! I grew up in Carmel, Indiana and graduated from Carmel High School in 1999. I attended Indiana University and graduated in 2003 with majors in Religious Studies, East Asian Languages, and Biochemistry. I spent a year working in the IU biology department, and the next year studying abroad in Yokohama, Japan before entering IU School of Medicine in 2005. I am thrilled to have just graduated with my younger brother, Justin, who will be training in anesthesia at the IU Medical Center.
I can hardly wait to begin my rotations in ICU, OB, peds, internal medicine, and all the myriad fields in which family docs can practice. My career goals include joining a private practice and participating in medical missions. My favorite activities are music, dancing, martial arts, and cycling. I'm a single guy living in a palace of a condo in downtown Indy, and so I get to do amazing single guy things like convert my basement into a recording studio. My brother and I are in the up and coming Indianapolis-based rock band JAMA, so check out the band page on Facebook!

Meghan Miller
Indiana University School of Medicine
Dr. Meghan Miller grew up close to St. Vincent and always thought about working there one day. She went to Cleveland, OH for undergrad at John Carroll University, where she got a degree in Philosophy. She attended Indiana University for medical school. She enjoys travel and has been to 17 countries, including several mission fields and would like to pursue that interest professionally in some way. She also has a passion for working with the underserved and this was the main reason she choose the St. Vincent Family Medicine Residency Program. She also enjoys reading, grilling out, rowing, watching college football and cardio kickboxing.

Emily M. Stochel
Indiana University School of Medicine
Emily is a native Hoosier and grew up close to St. Vincent in Zionsville, IN. After graduating from Zionsville High School, she headed south to New Orleans for college at Tulane University, but returned to Indiana for medical school at IU School of Medicine. St. Vincent was an easy choice for a residency program due to the high quality training and the fantastic people that work here. Her special interests include dance and sports medicine, and she would like to make that a part of her practice after residency. Emily and her husband, TJ, enjoy going to Colts games, concerts, and spending time with friends and family.
