Anita Schelble Leis ~ 2006 Graduate
“St.Vincent provides excellent academic and clinical training through their committed staff, upper level residents, clinical volume and encouragement toward self-study. The program is structured to provide a balance between service and education. The surgical volume and patient acuity is excellent. The program provides a positive and supportive learning environment and abides by RRC guidelines. The program is very personal; each resident is well-known to several staff members and other residents who help to grow you clinically, academically and personally. I will always be thankful for my training and teachers.“
Frank LoRusso ~ 2006 Graduate
“I believe the strongest attribute of the St.Vincent Ob/Gyn program is its people. Everyone from the administration, to staff, to fellow residents looks out for one another. The staff are incredibly intelligent in their respective fields and so willing to share their time for the benefit of resident education. The administration balances protecting resident education, while pushing you to achieve your best. There has been a long standing tradition of fellow residents taking care of one another in times of need. St.Vincent's is a complete package; a place to find balance, excellent experience and research opportunities.“
Lori Buzzetti, MD ~ Teaching Staff
“I am proud to be a part of the Ob/Gyn Residency Program at St.Vincent Hospital. It is a program in which the residents receive extensive training in surgery and obstetric care. The residents are a wonderful group of individuals who are enthusiastic about learning, work well together and practice good medicine.”
Greg Sutton, MD ~ St.Vincent Gynecologic Oncology (Teaching Faculty)
“St.Vincent is a great program that is packed with many smart, hardworking, personable residents. The residents work exceptionally hard and mystifyingly well together. Best program that I’ve ever been involved with.”
Kevin Henderzahs ~ 2005 Graduate
“St.Vincent offers a great amount of obstetrical and gynecological experience in a setting that is academic and collegial. The major difference in this program is the attitude of the attending and private physicians. You can get good training at a lot of places, but at St.Vincent your teachers actually care about you. You are held accountable, but in a non-malignant manner. The residents are a very close-knit bunch and the "fit" of the program and residents is a must. A resident at St.V's must strive for excellence at all times and work together as a team.“
Rebecca Keith ~ 2005 Graduate
“St.Vincent Hospital's Ob/Gyn Residency Program is refreshingly different and special in how it educates physicians....it is a residency anomaly in that as a resident, you are treated as an integral part of a friendly and caring medical community, but are also held to very high academic and performance standards. My experience has allowed me to practice by ACOG standards and bring cutting-edge technology to my established practice, but not forget the human side of caring for women. As a practitioner, I must be capable of mind and hand, but in this medical age, I must also be the guide to lead a woman to the treatment that best fits her entire situation. Doctors are no longer dictators of treatment, but partners in treatment as women are more educated about their health. St.Vincent Ob/Gyn Residency Program taught me how to achieve that balance so that I could be a better asset to the women to whom I give care.“
Mike Callahan ~ 2004 Graduate
“The St.Vincent Ob/Gyn residency program is fantastic! It offers superb clinical training within a tight, close family of residents and attendings and staff. St.Vincent's program prepares its residents well for either Ob/Gyn practice or fellowship training.“
