The Ob/Gyn Residency Program at St.Vincent Hospital is dedicated to providing resident physicians the opportunity to develop their full potential as consultants and providers of primary health care for women. The program, fully accredited by the Accreditation Council on Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) accepts five residents per year into its four-year training program.
The volume of our Obstetrics and Gynecology patient base allows our residents to gain vast experience in all aspects of women's health care. Residents are provided with vast experience in general Ob/Gyn and Primary Care, as well as specialized areas such as Gynecologic Oncology, Maternal Fetal Medicine, Reproductive Endocrinology/Infertility and Urogynecology.
St.Vincent Women's Hospital is the focus of activities for inpatient obstetrics service. However, a wide range of family-oriented obstetric and nursery care is available to the community. Resident physicians provide ambulatory, outpatient care at the Joshua Max Simon Primary Care Center, a newly constructed outpatient center which opened in 2007.
Mutual respect and collegial interdependence between faculty and housestaff best categorize our work environment. The St.Vincent Ob/Gyn Residency Program prepares residents to reach their full potential as practicing physicians.
St.Vincent Hospital is a member of St.Vincent Health System, a values-based alliance of local healthcare providers, as well as Ascension Health, which is national Catholic health ministry.
Central to our program are the St.Vincent Core Values, for which we are called to: Service of the Poor, Reverence, Integrity, Wisdom, Creativity and Dedication. We strive to recognize and provide an approach to patient care that emphasizes the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of patients and their families, as well as health care professionals.
